The biennial European Conference on Applied Superconductivity is ESAS' flagship event. The event brings together workers in the Materials, Large Scale and Electronics aspects of applied superconductivity from across the world.
EUCAS 2013 - Genova, Italy

EUCAS 2015 - Lyon, France
Eucas 2015 will be held in Lyon, France between the 6th and 10th of September. The conference venue will be the Lyon Convention Centre.
Lyon is located between the two biggest superconducting machines within the word: LHC (Geneva, 150 km) and ITER (Cadarache, 300 km). Lyon is the gastronomy capital of France and a very beautiful city. In Lyon you will treat your taste bud and you enjoy the legacy of the past in a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will see unmissable sites, monuments, the famous traboules (ancient passageways) ... Among the numerous activities you can discover how silk workers lived in La Croix-Rousse. Lyon is the place where the Lumière brothers invented the Cinématographe and where, in 1895, they shot the first film in the history of the cinema: "Sortie d'Usine".
The Lyon convention centre was designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano. It provides modular bright and functional spaces at the Cité internationale. The Convention Center can be reached very easily by public transportation (tram and bus) or by car (3350 parking places). 500 hotel rooms are available on the site (from Hilton to low cost hotels) and over 1000 within walking distance.
Lyon may be easily reached by:
- Air (International airports of Lyon Saint Exupéyr and Geneva (150 km))
- Rail (Paris and Paris Airport (Charles de Gaulle) in less than 2 hours by TGV) and
- Road (highways from Paris, Strasbourg, Barcelona and Geneva)
